Rear End Housing Install

This was a long but worthwhile day for me. Starting with cleaning up the housing and assembling the parts, I installed the pumpkin, control arms, set the rear end housing in, hooked it all up, put in new seals, and slapped some wheels back on it. Also reworked rear housing brake lines and installed front to rear brake line.

One final cleaning of housing inside, especially axle tubes.

All the parts that need to be put back together. Big puzzle.

A nice BEFORE and AFTER comparison… Looks a little better I’d say.

Ugly Before…
Pretty After…

A few more shots of the after. Only real issues were some massaging needed on the upper arm frame mount as it appeared to have been compressed some and getting the panhard bar to line up on the frame. Was very close on the bar, just used a punch on the front side to line up, put a small bolt in the back side to hold it, and then pushed the bolt through.

The funky looking vent hose is some scrap braided line with a weed eater fuel filter on the end. Around here EVERY open hose or hold gets some type of mud dauber or wasp clogging it up with a mud nest.
Blurry shot but the Spohn upper arm in place.
